According to ESPN‘s Mexican correspondent Salvador Rodriguez, Josh Warrington has agreed to defend his featherweight world title versus Luis Alberto Lopez in Leeds on December 10th.

Warrington tore back the belt he previously held with a seventh-round stoppage of Spain’s Kiko Martinez in March and is now likely to make the first defence of his second reign as world champion versus Mexico’s Lopez in the run-up to Christmas. The twenty-nine-year-old may sound familiar to British fight fans after he knocked out Isaac Lowe inside seven rounds in December last year, maintaining an impressive record which currently sits at 26-2-0, (15KOs).

The fight should bring about an entertaining clash of styles between two men who love to have a tear-up in a city that is renowned for its raucous atmosphere and high-tempo support for their own.
