Queensberry Promotions have announced that Artur Beterbiev will collide with Britain’s Anthony Yarde on January 28th at London’s OVO Arena.

George Warren, son of promoter Frank, announced the fight minutes after Yarde demolished Stefani Koykov inside three rounds in Telford on Saturday.

Beterbiev holds the WBC, WBO and IBF light-heavyweight world titles.

The Canadian is undefeated in 18 contests, winning all of them inside the distance.

Yarde meanwhile only has two defeats to his name in 25 contests.

The Londoner travelled to Russia in 2019 as a raw professional where he succumbed to an eleventh-round knockout to Sergey Kovalev after a valiant performance.

He then suffered a split-decision defeat to Lyndon Arthur in December 2020, a loss he swiftly avenged twelve months later when he halted the Mancunian inside four rounds.

Yarde will enter the ring on January 28th as mandatory challenger for Beterbiev’s WBO title.

The bout will form part of BT Sport‘s monthly subscription service and so will not be on pay-per-view.
