The WBO have announced that Lawrence Okolie‘s cruiserweight title defence versus David Light has now been settled for a BOXXER show on March 11th.
A purse bid was initially called for Thursday 22nd December amid a dispute over Okolie’s contractual situation.
The 30-year-old insisted his contract with Matchroom Boxing had expired while promoter Eddie Hearn remained firm that Okolie still had a fight remaining.
The situation looks to have resolved itself now with Okolie set to headline a BOXXER and Sky Sports event in the capital.
Okolie last appeared with a unanimous decision victory over Michal Cieslak in February.
