After been world champion at super middleweight and light heavyweight, Badou Jack (29-3-3, 17 KOs) has now won a cruiserweight world title. The 39 year old became WBC cruiserweight world champion after dethroning Ilunga Makabu (29-3, 25 KOs) on the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury undercard in Saudi Arabia.
Jacks composure allowed him to finish the fight in the 12th round after he landed a chopping right hand that stunned Makabu back to the ropes followed up by an array of shots , resulting in the fight been waved off. Makabu was down twice in the fight prior to the stoppage despite the bout been competitive in many rounds.
