2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Skye Nicolson has been added to the undercard of Shavkat RakhimovJoe Cordina in Cardiff on April 22nd.

The Australian faces Peru’s Linda Lecca in Wales in her second showing of 2023 following a comfortable ten-round points decision against Tania Alvarez in New York two months ago.

Lecca’s record stands at 15-6-2 (3KOs) and most recently featured in a ten-round encounter against Norfolk’s Raven Chapman, with the latter winning wide on points after ten rounds in Telford.

Nicolson, who fought at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics before losing to Britain’s Karriss Artingstall in the quarter-finals, has already claimed the Commonwealth title at featherweight inside six successful pro outings.

The 27-year-old has opted to base herself out of London as she continues her development under trainer Eddie Lam at the iBox Gym.

The card in the Welsh capital is headlined by IBF super-featherweight champion by the aforementioned Rakhimov’s first defence of his title against Wales’ Cordina.

The latter once held the same belt before he was stripped after a hand injury prevented him from defending against the Tajikistanian.

Rakhimov defeated Manchester’s Zelfa Barrett inside nine rounds to claim the vacant belt in November and now looks to fend off Cordina in the Welshman’s backyard.

Derby’s Sandy Ryan also contests for the vacant WBO welterweight title against Canada’s Marie Pier Houle, while British lightweight champion Gavin Gwynne rematches Craig Woodruff following their majority decision draw in September.
