Matchroom Boxing have confirmed that a welterweight unification between Derby’s Sandy Ryan and Detroit’s Jessica McCaskill has been signed for later in 2023.

A date and venue is yet to be confirmed for the contest but is expected to be announced soon.

The fight will see Ryan look to add McCaskill’s WBA, WBC and Ring Magazine 147lb titles to the WBO belt she claimed with a dominant ten-round display over Marie Pier Houle in April.

That victory saw Ryan become world champion at the first time of asking in just her seventh bout.

McCaskill meanwhile previously reigned as undisputed champion at welterweight with consecutive divisions over former ruler Cecilia Braekhus in 2021.

The 38 year old was forced to vacate the WBO version, leaving the path clear for Ryan to sweep in but hopes to reclaim her old title against the Brit.

McCaskill has also penned a fresh deal with Matchroom and DAZN heading into the Ryan bout.
