Sky Sports have confirmed they will broadcast the upcoming undisputed super-bantamweight fight between Naoya Inoue and Marlon Tapoles on December 26th.

The fight will form part of consumer’s monthly subscription.

The pair will go head-to-head in Koto-Ku, Tokyo on Boxing Day with all four sanctioning body titles on the line.

Inoue hunts two-time undisputed status

Four-division champion Inoue stepped up to super-bantamweight in July after reigning as undisputed champion at bantamweight.

The 30-year-old has also held sanctioning body titles at both super-flyweight and light-flyweight in the past.

WBC and WBO 122lb champion Stephen Fulton Jr stood opposite him at the Ariake Arena but was dominated over eight rounds by the Japanese star who secured his 22nd knockout in 25 professional outings.

The victory cemented Inoue’s status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet, a legacy he hopes to enhance against the Philippine’s Tapales next month.

The latter provided one of the upsets of the year so far when he overcame Murudjon Akhmadaliev over twelve-rounds to be crowned unified super-bantamweight champion in San Antonio seven months ago.

Tapales also reigned as WBO bantamweight champion between 2016 and 2017, but victory over Inoue would be by far his best victory and another contender for the upset of 2023.
