BOXXER have confirmed that the fight between Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez has been rearranged for February 3rd at Wembley Arena.

The pair were initially set to meet on October 21st before an injury to Azeez forced the fight to be cancelled during fight week.

Mikael Lawal and Isaac Chamberlain, who were set to fight in the chief support, went on to headline a card at York Hall on the night along with the rest of the undercard.

Buatsi returned to the ring in May with a ten-round unanimous decision win over Pawel Stepien to bring an end to a 12-month absence.

The fight was the 30-year-old’s first since signing with BOXXER and the Rio 2016 bronze medalist came face-to-face with Azeez post-fight.

The anticipated showdown between the pair was finally announced in August before a BOXXER statement confirmed the fight would have to be pushed back after Azeez suffered a back injury during camp.

Azeez also released a statement of his own apologising for the delay but vowed to face-off against British rival Buatsi once the injury had cleared up.

The former undoubtedly heads into the bout with greater momentum after enjoying a near perfect two years which have seen him crowned British, Commonwealth and European champion at 175lbs.

A seventh-round stoppage of Hosea Burton saw the 34-year-old capture the Lord Lonsdale belt before he added the Commonwealth with an eighth-round TKO of Rocky Fielding eleven months later.

Azeez then travelled to Paris to take on European champion Thomas Faure where he secured a twelfth-round stoppage in the French capital.

Further undercard announcements are expected to follow.
