Former GB star Kal Yafai made his professional debut on July 7 2012 at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on the undercard of Kell Brook’s IBF eliminator fight against American Carson Jones.

As an amateur Kal had a glittering career that saw him travel the globe where he picked up a World Junior title, three European silver medals and an ABA championship, as well as representing Great Britain at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

The Birmingham man impressed in his first pro fight by forcing a stoppage of experienced journeyman Delroy Spencer who retired after the second round, only the durable veteran’s 13th stoppage from his 140 defeats.

Since then the 23 year old bantamweight has racked up another 3 quick fire wins and will have his next fight in Nottingham on the undercard of favourite boxer Carl Froch’s first IBF title defence against Yusef Mack on November 17.

We caught up with Kal this week to ask him our ‘In the Ring with Questions for his Boxing Profile page on BritishBoxers.
