Marcus Morrison (13-0 10 KO’s) ticked over with a facile first round stoppage of France’s Matiouze Royer (15-27-6, 3 early).

Over the past couple of years, Royer (11st 4lbs 4oz) has campaigned at Super middleweight or light-heavyweight but immediately struggled to keep up with the razor sharp 23-year-old from Hyde.

A hook to the body hurt Royer and the Frenchman doubled up. A right hand put him over and out. Morrison (11st 6lbs) bettered Vijender Singh and Christophe Rebrasse by stopping Royer quickly but the ending was strange. The time was 1.31 of the very first round.
