Sean Ben Mulligan and his trainer Pat Barrett speak to BritishBoxers about having to withdraw from his fight on Saturday Nov 5th at the Middleton Arena.
Recently when Mulligan had his medical in order to renew his BBBofC licence, the first medical flagged up an issue that would require further tests. The board recognising these findings asked for Mulligan to partake in further, more stringent tests. Mulligan had these done and all came back fine and passed off to fight. The problem arose when the Boxing Board advised they would not deal with the case again until 9th November, regardless that the second tests came back ok.
Mulligan, 23, had sold lots of tickets and was dedicating the fight to his friend Paul Brooks who recently passed away, Paul went to everyone of Ben’s fights and was looking forward to this one and it obviously meant a lot to the boxer to perform on November 5th. Despite numerous pleas from Mulligan from Mulligan and his team the Board would not bring the case forward and advised Ben that he would not be able to fight regardless of what he does.
In the video above Mulligan and Barrett take up the story and explains the situation to his fans.
