Liam Smith failed to make the 11 stone super-welterweight limit at todays scales and therefore cannot reclaim his WBO world title in Manchester on Saturday night. Only Liam Williams can win the title.
After Williams had come in well under the limit, at 10 stone 12 pounds eight ounces.
Smith then stepped up and weighed 11 stone one pound and 15ozs.
It was announced that Smith would return to the scales inside the stipulated hour. The British Boxing Board of Control later confirmed that Smith had been given two hours to make the weight, chose not to make second attempt and as a result forfeited his opportunity to claim the WBO Interim title.
