HUGHIE FURY SPEAKS TO BBTV AT HIS NEW HOME, SALFORD CITY BOXING ACADEMY
Hughie Fury is back in the gym for a fresh camp after losing to Bulgarian national hero Kubrat Pulev last year. Suffering a horrendous cut in the second round, Fury found it difficult to claw his way into the fight which ended in a unanimous points win for the local favourite. It is important to note that had it not been for some expert cut work from experienced Kerry Kayes, the fight certainly would not have gone the scheduled twelve.
Back with intent and purpose and in a new gym in Manchester, we caught up with the young heavyweight to reflect on the past year and assess his position going forward.
Still the British Heavyweight Champion, Hughie (21 – 2, 11KO) has decisions to make. There are still intriguing domestic clashes to be had and still relatively young at 24, Hughie has plenty of time to reassert himself in the top flight mix.
