An ambassador for the The ‘Safety Guide Foundation’ Robin and his colleagues are making a stand against knife violence.
Manchester based charity ‘Safety Guide Foundation’ which former WBC world champion Robin Reid is an ambassador for, visited his old boxing club the Collyhurst and Moston, to speak to some of the amateur boxers and kids in attendance about the dangers of knife crime and how boxing can help them direct their lives in a positive direction. #safetyguidefoundation
The foundation has joined forces with the famous boxing club, which celebrated their 100 year anniversary recently to send out a message to the local youths about the dangers of knife crime.
We went along to find out from Robin about the project and to speak to some of the people behind bringing it into the boxing gym. We hear from Byron Highton a young man who is spreading the word with the Safety Guide Foundation’ after losing his brother in a street attack.
Stu Maddox, a founder of the charity and a BKB fighter, plus former pro boxer now coach at the gym Thomas McDonagh tell us and the people in attendance why they are passionate about ending violence between kids and how boxing could be a way forward for some.
