Salford’s Jade Taylor has remarkably allowed Linzi Buczynskyj and Chelsey Arnell to fight for the now vacant Central Area super-featherweight title after she was forced to pull out of what would have been her first scheduled defence on July 23rd.
Taylor won the strap in April after a close ten-round bout versus Buczynskyj, becoming the first female Central Area champion in the process, but an injury meant she could not compete at Oldham’s Leisure Centre next month. To her immense credit, Taylor took the decision to vacate the belt to allow Buczynskyj a shot which will now come against Arnell respectively. The winner of the bout will then face Taylor at a later date.
If only everyone adopted a similar approach to Taylor in order to benefit the sport.
