BOXXER and Sky Sports announced on Wednesday that the heavyweight eliminator between Hughie Fury and Michael Hunter, which was originally scheduled to take place on July 2nd in Manchester, has been postponed. The same goes for Ricky Hatton‘s upcoming exhibition with Hall of Famer Marco Antonio Barrera, which was slated to take place at the AO Arena following the conclusion of the heavyweight clash.
Sky Sports announced in a statement ‘the heavyweight contender clash…has been postponed due to illness‘ to Fury, and that the former British heavyweight champion had been ‘attempting to train through the illness but his father and trainer Peter Fury decided to suspend the camp to allow his son to recover‘.
No new date has yet been announced for the clash.
