BBTV spoke to Hatton recently before the contest was unfortunately pushed back.

Manchester hero Ricky Hatton confirmed in an Instagram post on Friday that his exhibition bout against Hall of Fame icon Marco Antonio Barrera has been pushed back to November 12th. The bout was planned to follow on from Hughie Fury‘s clash with Michael Hunter on July 2nd at the Manchester Arena, but an illness to the former forced the card to be postponed.

The post read “I wish Hughie a speedy recovery but I’m obviously gutted as I have been training so hard for this event. But I’ll take a little break and be back fitter and stronger for the new date with the fans. We’ve all waited a long time for this, so I hope the fans can be a little bit more patient so we can be back with a bigger and better show in November“.

A new date hasn’t yet been confirmed for Fury’s clash with Hunter, with it unclear whether the clash will still double up with Hatton’s big night.
