World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury confirmed via social media that he is chasing a trilogy fight with Derek Chisora, with a target date reported to be around December.

In an Instagram story on Monday, Fury said: “This one goes out to Dereck ‘the s***house Chisora’. You’re running Derek from the trilogy, you call yourself war but you should call yourself chicken because you’re running from a trilogy with a career highest payday. Get the f***ing contract signed, stop being a s***house“.

After spending the last three months insisting to the world that he is happily retired, it appears ‘The Gypsy King’ is looking to enter a ring with Chisora for a third time after initially outpointing him in 2011 before stopping him three years later in a rematch. Chisora edged out Kubrat Pulev last time out in July and many in the sport have called for the thirty-eight-year-old to retire, but there’s no doubting a world title shot as well as a huge payday would be too much for most fighters to turn down, particularly Chisora whose love for the sport appears to be burning stronger than ever before.

Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren told talkSport on Monday that Fury has ‘itchy feet’ and that he ‘wants to fight’. “I think what’s going to happen is, see what happens on [August] 20th [in the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua] and the outcome of that and that’ll determine what he intends to do in the future“, said Warren.

It appears, as predicted by most of the boxing fraternity, that the story of Tyson Fury is not yet over and he will indeed return, with hopes of an undisputed heavyweight champion from this current generation not completely dead in the water after all.
