Peter Fury is urging fans to get along to the Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester on October 1 to watch the next big sensation in heavyweight boxing.

Already the trainer of current world champion Tyson Fury, along with talented son Hughie, it’s fair to say Peter knows a good heavyweight when he sees one—and Con Sheehan has got him excited.

Standing at 6’5”, the athletic Irishman from Clonmel has a terrific amateur pedigree, and is currently 1-0 as a pro after a January Los Angeles debut that saw him record a points win over Jonathan Rice.

Now under the tutelage of renowned trainer Fury, the 27-year-old gets his second outing in the paid ranks on the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ which has been organised by former Amir Khan manager Asif Vali, in association with promoter Dennis Hobson.

“Con Sheehan is going to explode on the pro scene,” said Fury, “having enjoyed a long and successful amateur career that gave him 12 international titles from over 270 fights. Watch this future star of the heavyweight division.”

Asif Vali stated: “I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in boxing over the years, and I don’t believe there’s currently a better trainer in the world than Peter Fury. When you look at what he’s done with Tyson and how Hughie has developed into a real title contender then Con Sheehan is definitely in great hands.

“I think we’ll see an explosive performance from Con on October 1st and I’m delighted to have him on the show. We’ve got a really good line up of young talent on the card and it’s going to be a great night of boxing for the fans. I’m looking to build a big stable here and if any boxers out there want to join me and fight regularly then please get in touch.”

Asif Vali, in partnership with Dennis Hobson present the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ on October 1 at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford (Lancashire County Cricket Club). Appearing on the show will be Bolton’s Osman Aslam; Manchester’s Adam Hague, Darryl Sharp and Matthew Mainwaring; Ireland’s Con Sheehan, and Leeds’ Nasser Baz.
