Martin Murray made his return to the ring on Saturday night in Monte Carlo with a unanimous points decision win over the previously undefeated German-based Nuhu Laval to pick up the vacant WBA Continental super-middleweight title and keep his world title dream alive.
It was the St Helens’ fighters first outing since losing to George Groves back in June and picked up a good win that takes him back into world title contention.

Laval had stepped in as a late replacement for Dmitrii Chudinov who pulled out with a virus.
Despite the late change, Murray remained focused and picked up the victory with scores of 116-111 and 117-110.
