We sit down with the former champion at his old amateur club, Fox ABC
The meteoric rise of Ukrainian star Vasyl Lomachenko is a remarkable one. Now firmly viewed in the sport as one of the pound-for-pound best, he now puts his WBA and WBO lightweight titles on the line against Manchester’s Anthony Crolla at the Staples Center on April 12.
The likable Mancunian favourite, Crolla previously held the WBA belt which he won of Darleys Perez in his home town. He became the WBA’s mandatory challenger for Lomachenko after his points victory over Daud Yordan in November.
The odds are stacked against the man from Moston, but as always his strong legion of supporters are behind their man to pull off the big upset in LA. We sat down with Anthony to discuss the fight and the legacy he will leave in the sport.
