When British boxing returns on February the 13th, Manchester’s Zelfa Barrett takes centre stage as he looks to cement himself on the world stage with a clash against the former world champion, Kiko Martinez.
The fight will be Barrett’s second under the Matchroom promotional banner after he produced one of the knockouts of the year last time out against the skilled Eric Donovan.
Speaking to BBTV, Barrett underlined that this is the stage he needs, to maximise his ability and be the best version of himself, as he plans on reaping the rewards of his dedicated approach to the sport.
“This is the kind of opponent I need at this stage of my career to get the best out of me so great matchmaking and I’m ready for the victory,” he said.
“He’s there to be hit, but boxing is unpredictable he could come out and start bobbing and weaving and do something different, but you know we have prepared for that too.
“Styles make fights and on February 13, you’re going to see what we have been cooking in the gym. Even if it goes 12 rounds, I’m going to put on a masterclass and make the people go wow.”
