Matchroom Boxing have announced that Anthony Joshua will face old rival Dillian Whyte in a heavyweight rematch at London’s O2 Arena on August 12th.
The fight will be shown live on DAZN pay-per-view for the price of £26.99 in the UK.
Reports initially suggested last week that the fight was in jeopardy due to the inclusion of a rematch clause in the contract by Team Joshua.
News later broke that the clause had been removed however and it was reported Whyte had signed his side of the contract at the end of last week.
The pair initially met in the amateurs where Whyte emerged victorious before Joshua evened the score with a seventh-round knockout in the pros to claim the British heavyweight title in 2015.
Both men hope to kickstart another shot at world honours after tasting defeat last year.
Whyte was stopped in the sixth-round to WBC champion Tyson Fury in April before Joshua lost his rematch to WBA, WBO and IBF king Oleksandr Usyk in August.
36 year old Whyte returned with a narrow majority-decision win over Jermaine Franklin in November and the latter shared the ring with Joshua five months later, losing via unanimous decision in April.
Providing former two-time champion Joshua gets his hand raised next month, plans are in place for him to face former champion Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia in either December or January.
