Frazer Clarke (7-0, 5KOs) will face-off against popular Doncaster heavyweight Dave Allen (21-5-2, 18KOs) on the undercard of Liam Smith‘s upcoming rematch against Chris Eubank Jr in Manchester.
BOXXER announced the first phase of the night’s undercard action on September 2nd earlier today.
Clarke stepped up last time out against former world title challenger Mariusz Wach, winning a wide unanimous decision over ten rounds.
After a planned showdown with British champion Fabio Wardley collapsed in May, promoter Ben Shalom has been eager for the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist to gain more experience in the paid ranks.
Allen himself has racked up plenty of experience in his own 28 fight career, taking on the likes of Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz and Tony Yoka in the paid ranks.
The 31 year old reacted to the announcement on Instagram, simply writing: “Papi Pay Per View is back” before following the post up with a video.
“Hello everyone. [It’s] been a long time, it’s me David Allen – [the] Doncaster De La Hoya, the White Rhino – and I’m back September 2nd”, he says.
Allen returned to the ring in March, defeating Michael Bassett inside a round after an eleven-month hiatus.
Further down the card, Mark Heffron (29-2-1, 23KOs) takes on Jack Cullen (21-4-1, 9KOs) at super-middleweight.
Albanian welterweight Florian Marku (12-0-1, 7KOs) also faces Ireland’s Dylan Moran (18-1-0, 8KOs), while light-heavyweight sensation Ben Whittaker (4-0, 3KOs) is also set to return.
